The Endangered Landscapes Programme (ELP) is looking for an organised, well-motivated administrator to join the team as Programme Administrator. The successful candidate will be joining a supportive and dynamic team in central Cambridge, and ensure the smooth running of the programme through a variety of administration and financial management responsibilities.
The ELP is managed by the Cambridge Conservation Initiative, a collaboration between the University of Cambridge and nine leading biodiversity conservation organisations – based in central Cambridge’s David Attenborough Building. Predominantly a grant-making programme, the ELP was launched in 2018 and since then has funded projects which are restoring landscapes to benefit people and nature across Europe.

Working closely with the ELP team, the Programme Administrator will be responsible for providing administrative, financial and secretarial support to the ELP and its committees, ensuring accurate programme records are kept and systems are maintained to enable the successful management of grants and contracts. The role holder will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to build successful working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders as well as supporting the arrangement of various events hosted by the ELP.
We are looking for someone with experience of administering and supporting projects involving multiple stakeholders, significant experience of organising and administering financial systems/budgets including contracting, the processing of purchase orders and expenses claims, as well as a good working knowledge of various office technologies and software. The successful candidate will need to be well organised, with an ability to prioritise and to adapt quickly and work well under pressure without compromising on quality. Having an active interest in the environment and conservation would be an advantage.
This is an exciting time to join the programme, with the recent launch of the ELP 2022-2030 strategy, the approval of eight new Restoration Landscape projects; the need for large-scale restoration of landscapes is becoming ever more evident. To apply for the role and be part of the next chapter for the ELP and landscape restoration in Europe, please see the full Programme Administrator advert on the University of Cambridge website.
The deadline for applying for this role is 23.59 BST, Sunday 4 September 2022.
